A public bus is photographed against a train station in the background – illustrating the convergence of two different modes of public transport in Singapore. At the tap of a card, I can easily travel to any part of the city by bus or train. The public transport network connects me to the places I want to go, be it for studies, work, shopping, recreation or food. Increasingly, our underground train stations are also directly linked to key amenities, including tertiary institutions such as the Singapore Management University, shopping malls, the F1 circuit, museums and theatres.
